Dorothy E. Catron, 89, of New Castle, passed away Sunday, July 3, 2016 at Glen Oaks Health Campus in New Castle. She was born August 13, 1926 in Henry County, Indiana to the late John Henry Wesley and Lucinda Ellen (White) Ford.
Dorothy was employed at Perfect Circle Corp. in New Castle for 12 years and also worked with her husband, Kenneth, who owned Catrons Photography Studio in New Castle. She was a charter member of the Pilgrim of Holiness Church where she served as church secretary, treasurer, and Sunday school teacher, along with various other ministries. She enjoyed reading, bird watching, shopping, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include two daughters: Wanda Sue (husband: Jeff) Ferguson, and Marcia Kay (husband: Tony) Eichel, both of New Castle and two grandsons: David and Nick Eichel, both of Muncie; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Kenneth Ray Catron, whom she married in 1949 and died June 11, 1990; six brothers: Charles Edward, William Clarence, James Wilson, Chester Floyd, Melvin Roy, and Ernest Walter Ford and six sisters: Bessie Lee, Flossie Mae, Minnie Pearl, Lula Jane Ford, Anna Elizabeth Warren, and Nora Alice Jolley.
Services will be held at 10:30 am Friday, July 8, 2016 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Services in New Castle with Rev. Donald Rains officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition. Visitation will be from 6 – 8 pm Thursday, July 7th at the funeral home. Condolences and memories of Dorothy may be shared at
