Dorothy Ann Thomas

Dorothy Ann (Cochran) Thomas, 93 of New Castle passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2024. She was born on January 7, 1931 in Dublin, IN to the late Walter and Belva (Geiglia) Cochran. 

She married David “Frank” Franklin Thomas on May 23, 1971, he passed away on November 16, 2020. Dorothy was the second child but the first daughter. She had previously worked as a waitress, as well as an office factory worker and as an auto parts delivery driver for her husband, Frank.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Jennifer (Jim) Talbott, Deidra Thomas and Susan Thomas; son, Terry (Carolyn) Carnes; step-son, James “Skip” (Jane) Thomas; daughter in law, Sondra Carnes; grandchildren, Monica Henkel, Amanda (Tim) Walls, Brianne (Michael) Plewke, Erika (John) Peggs, Tasman Carnes, Jeremy Carnes, Lindsay (Brent) Carnes Rossman, Kaitlyn (Michael) Carnes Welsh, Joanne (William) Wheatley and Jenna (Christopher) Amirault; great grandchildren,  Haidyn Clevenger, Landon Henkel, Elizabeth Henkel, Adelynne Plewke, Nolan Plewke, Ava Peggs, Nate Peggs and Ava Marie Rossman; sisters, Pat Millis, Jeanie Dishman and Sandy (Mac) Guffey.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy is preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Frank; sons, Gene Allen Carnes, Stephen Carnes and David D. Thomas; brothers, Walter Cochran, Jr., Richard Cochran and William Cochran. 

Services will be private and have been entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Center Christian Church Pastor Darryl Denney will be officiating Dorothy's service.
