Dortha “Anita” Watters, age 84, of New Castle, passed away Monday, March 18, 2013 at The Woodlands in Muncie. She was born August 8, 1928 in Henry County, Indiana to the late Pete Leonard and Lola Mosier
She was employed by Diamond Containers as personnel clerk. Anita was a member of the First Baptist Church in New Castle and also was a lifetime member of Phi Chi Epsilon Sorority. She loved to play Euchre and Bridge and also loved to travel. She was an avid bowler and golfer.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda (husband, Don) Ward of New Castle; son, Troy Watters of Greenwood; step-daughter, Pam (husband, Johnny) Moore of Gainesville, FL; three grandsons, Brian (wife, Jennifer) Rhodes of AK, Erin Rhodes of McCordsville and Chad (wife, Jodi) Davis of South Bend; step-granddaughter, Michelle Moore of Gainesville, FL; five great grandchildren; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Watters; stepfather, Walter Mosier; granddaughter, Brandy Watters; step brother, Donnie Leonard; step sister, Joan Singleton.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 22, 2013 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Jerry Ingalls officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, March 21, 2013 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the First Baptist Church, 709 S.
