Dory D. Gross

Dory Dale Gross, 73, of Spiceland, passed away unexpectedly April 14, 2012 in Coastal Plain Hospital in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. He was born December 28, 1938 in Knightstown the son of Arthur and Ruth (Shoemaker) Gross.

He retired from Roll Coater in Greenfield following 20 years of service. A veteran of the US Navy, he loved woodworking, candle making, and fishing. He was a forgiving person and would do anything for anybody. He enjoyed gardening, especially growing flowers and vegetables, working outdoors and mowing the yard.

Dory is survived by children: Jimmy Stacey of Knightstown, Dory Dale Gross, Jr. of Martinsburg, WV, Randy (Janice) Gross of Knightstown, Thelma Marsh of Indianapolis, Artie (Kim) Gross of New Castle, Charlene Faulstich of Knightstown, Rick Gross of Knightstown, Scott Gross of Knightstown; sister: Phyllis (Bob) Lukens of Knightstown; several grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; best friend: Jefferson Jones of Spiceland; special friend: Marcia Weimer of Greenfield.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughters: Mary Jeremiah and Darlene Gross; brother: Leslie Gross; sister: Donna Strange.

Services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, April 19, 2012 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Reverend Danny Shelton officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 PM Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be given to the Little Red Door, 401 W. Jackson, Muncie, IN 47305 with envelopes available at the funeral home.
