Douglas Gene Stonerock, 77, of New Castle, died March 6, 2010 at the Henry County Hospital following a long period of failing health. He was born on October 21, 1932 in New Castle, Indiana to the late Paul and Juanita (Haynes) Stonerock.
Douglas retired from Sears and then was employed at Spiceland Wood Products.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years: Sara; one son: John (wife: Roxanne) Stonerock; three grandsons: Matthew, Brian, and Christopher Stonerock all of Los Angeles, California; mother-in-law: Eula Masengale Lockridge; brother-in-law: Larry (wife: Janice) Masengale; niece: Jennifer (husband: Andy) Hood; two great nephews; and several cousins.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverend Dennis Hilton officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Henry County Cancer Society, 1909 Walnut Street New Castle, IN 47362, with envelopes available the funeral home.
