Dr. Arthur Stine

Dr. Arthur I. Stine, age 91, a New Castle, Indiana resident since 1947, passed away at home December 13, 2009 following a brief illness. He was born January 27, 1918 in Adel, Iowa, the youngest of seven children. His family moved to North Manchester, Indiana in 1930. He graduated from Laketon High School and earned a Bachelors degree from Purdue University and a D.D.S. degree from Indiana University in 1947.
He married his wife, MaryAnne Kennedy, on June 24, 1944 and in 1947 they moved to New Castle where he started his dental practice. He retired in 1989 after 42 years of practicing dentistry.
He served in the Medical Corps during World War II and in the Air Force as a dentist in the Korean War.
He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Muncie, Indiana, which was an important part of his life and where he served as a Deacon. He also enjoyed gardening and working outside.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters, and is survived by his wife of 65 years MaryAnne Stine of New Castle, four children and their spouses – Patricia Kaye Sullivan (Jay) of Golden, Colorado; Ron Stine (Kay) of Norfolk, Virginia; Bob Stine (Jan) of Maplewood, Minnesota; and Nancy Krejsa (Ken) of Vernon Hills, Illinois, and twelve grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle Friday, December 18, 2009 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Pastor Collins Glenn will officiate the funeral service at Grace Baptist Church in Muncie, Indiana at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 19 with visitation at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in South Mound Cemetery-West Lawn Addition in New Castle following the service. Online condolences may be expressed at www.hinsey-brown.com .
