Earl Wayne Austin, 84, of Shirley passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at his residence. He was born on March 3, 1940 in Guntersville, AL. 

Earl was employed by IMI where he was a delivery driver for 25 years prior to retiring. He was a graduate of the Indiana Law-enforcement Academy, session #27 Bloomington, Indiana. He enjoyed working on small engine repairs. Earl enjoyed any type of country & bluegrass music.

Earl is survived by his wife, Barbara Louise Austin of Shirley; his children, Michael (Teresa) Austin of Muncie, James Kevin (Toni) Austin of Indianapolis, Tommy Joe (Denise) Austin of TX, Terry Lynn Austin of Willow Branch and Debbie (Bob) Austin Kramer of Charlottesville; step-children, Danny (companion: Tonya) Clayborn of New Castle, Tony (Amber) Gray of Winamac and Tracey (Angie) Gray of Anderson; several grandchildren; 4 sisters and 1 brother. 

Earl was preceded in death by his first wife Mona Ray (Phillips) Austin, and son Phillip Ray Austin. 

A memorial service will be held at 5:00pm Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service- Knightstown Chapel. Visitation will be from 4:00pm until the time of service on Wednesday. You may express condolences of share memories of Earl at www.hinsey-brown.com.
