Earla Call

Earla Call, age 77, of New Castle, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2012 at Stonebrooke Rehabilitation Center in New Castle, Indiana. She was born December 15, 1934 in New Castle, Indiana to the late Orville and Helen (Scott) Burke.

She was married to her late husband, Charles Call for over 50 years. She loved church and attended Charity Baptist Church. She loved her family and always had a good time, she was a “Spunky Lady”. She loved nature, birds, flowers, animals and she especially loved her cat “Susie”.

Survivors include her children, Mary (husband, Edward) DeHart of New Castle and Carl (wife, Cathy) Helm of New Castle; grandchildren, Cindy (husband, Steve) Upchurch of Pendleton and Carla (husband, Mark) Thill of Greenwood; great grandchildren, Caleb, Michaela, and Noah Upchurch, Ashley and Cameron Thill; siblings, Carl Burke of New Castle, Dorothy Burk of GA, Charles (wife, Gloria) Burke of New Castle, Jimmy Burke of New Castle, David (wife, Martha) Burke of New Castle JR (wife, Lois) Reed of Muncie, and Larry (wife, Mona) Reed of Muncie; cat, “Susie”; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Billy Burke, Carol Sue Braunm, Jack Burke; sister-in-law, Helen Burke (loved like a sister), Ruth Anne Burke; son-in-law, Tom Burk and Mable Burke.

A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Brett Raines officiating. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
