Eddie "Ed" Decker

 Eddie “Ed” Decker, age 63, of Muncie, passed away on August 28, 2024, at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. He was born on July 31, 1961 in Somerset, Kentucky to the late Obie lee and Edna Pearl (Burton) Decker.

Christened “Uncle Edge” by his great-niece Ellianna, Ed was known as a prankster, often up to trouble, pulling innocent pranks, and being mischievous. He was known for wearing his favorite fedora and took pride in his impressive beard. He was a collector of various unique coins, watches, and knives. He loved good music and cool cars, but, most importantly, he loved his family, especially his nieces and nephews.

Eddie is survived by his siblings, Judy (Paul) Walden, Dickie Decker, Peggy Decker, and Marsha Armstong; his nieces and nephews, Leisa (David) Ross, Tracy (Andrew) Goldsberry, David Walden, Wayne (Erica) Young, James (Rachel) Young, Jennifer (Curt) Walker, Jessica (Ian) Reid, Scott (Christy) Decker, Kimberly Johnson, Christina (Josh) Burton, Joey (Julie) Darling; Step children, Brandon (Megan) Nixon, and Brittney (Nate) Bowers; as well as many great-nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Conley and his spouse, Tammy Nixon. 

Graveside Services for Eddie will be held at 2:30 pm Thursday, September 5, 2024 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Springport, IN. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. You may express condolences or share memories of Eddie at www.hinsey-brown.com.
