Edward Rogers

Edward E. Rogers, 63, of Shirley, went to be with the Lord Saturday, August 7, 2010 at Richard Roudebush Medical Center in Indianapolis. He was born October 20, 1946 in New Castle son of the late Arthur and Mary (Godsey) Rogers.

Edward was formerly employed at Roll Coater in Greenfield for over 30 years. He loved spending time with his family and always enjoyed family reunions. He was a member of the Shirley Christian Church where he had served as a trustee and deacon. He also served as a Shirley town board member for several years. He loved woodworking crafts making benches and shelves, and just tinkering in his garage and shed.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years: Sharon (LaVallee) Rogers of Shirley; three daughters: Candy Rogers of Shirley, Angela (husband: Brian) Tompkins of Markleville, Pam (husband: Jason) Faucett of Wilkinson; grandchildren: Amy and Jackson Tompkins of Markleville; Julia and Brenton Faucett of Wilkinson; siblings: Darline Gross of Grant City, Ella Mae (husband: Jere) Riggs of Knightstown, Douglas (wife: Lois) Rogers of Knightstown, Elizabeth (husband: Jim) Durham of Knightstown; brother-in-law: Forrest Wyatt of Knightstown; several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson: Wyatt Edward Lee Tompkins; half brother: Elza Rogers; sister: Norene Wyatt.

Services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, August 12, 2010 at Shirley Christian Church with Reverend Gary Sickle officiating. Military rites will be provided by the American Legion Post # 152. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 PM Wednesday, August 11 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel.
