Elizabeth Fort

Elizabeth L. Wyatt Fort, 45, of Knightstown, passed away June 11, 2010 at Hancock Regional Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born December 13, 1964 in New Castle the daughter of Jack and Anna (Andis) Wyatt.

Liz was a 1983 graduate of Knightstown High School. She earned a degree in Elementary Education from Indiana University and was also a graduate of Indiana University School of Nursing. She was employed at Riley Hospital for Children in Pediatric Oncology. Liz especially loved children and taking care of others. She was a very dedicated mother and enjoyed spending time with her son, Jack, and watching him participate in basketball and baseball. She was a member of the Knightstown United Methodist Church and enjoyed gardening, golfing, reading, antiquing and photography. An avid sports fan, she especially enjoyed college basketball.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 13 years: Mark Fort of Knightstown; a son: Jack Wyatt Fort of Knightstown; father-in-law: Max Fort of Knightstown; mother-in-law: Beverly (husband: Brooks) Mounsey of Bluffton; brother: Mike (wife: Stacy) Wyatt of Knightstown; sisters: Michele Wyatt of Colorado Springs, CO; Trish (husband: Jim) Steele of Groveland, MA; nephews: Kraig Gebhardt of Indianapolis; Joey Wyatt of Knightstown; Sam Steele of Groveland, MA; nieces: Annie and Sarah Steele of Groveland, MA.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Jack and Anna (Andis) Wyatt.

Service will be at 1:00 PM Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Pastor Bill Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 PM Monday, June 14.
