Elizabeth Mae "Libby" Mastin

Elizabeth Mae “Libby” (Wilkinson) Mastin, 95, of New Castle, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at Glen Oaks Health Campus in New Castle. She was born on May 26, 1929, in New Castle, the daughter of the late Joseph and Bina (Kirby) Wilkinson.

A 1948 graduate of New Castle High School, Libby worked as a switchboard operator for Bell Telephone Company and worked over 30 years for Dana Corporation prior to retirement in 1987. She volunteered at the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame for 25 years and enjoyed playing cards at the Henry County Senior Center.

Libby is survived by her children, Joseph (Jeanette) Holloway, New Castle; Donna (Dennis) Campbell, Knightstown; and Jeffrey (Jane) Mastin, Bloomington; daughter-in-law, Jayne Mastin, Dayton; grandchildren Sean Mastin, Brian (Beth) Mastin, Patty (Mike) Slover, Amy Holloway, Diane (Michael) Johnson, Portia Mastin, and Will (Emily) Mastin; seven great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Mastin, in 2006, her step-son, James E. “Skip” Mastin, II, and a sister, Hazel Cline.

The family would like to thank John, Sue, and all the staff at Glen Oaks Health Campus for their care and assistance.

Services are at 1:00 pm Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery. Visitation is 11:00 am until the time of service on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Detective Sergeant Jim and Libby Mastin Criminal Justice Scholarship Fund at Henry County Community Foundation.
