Elizabeth S. Shepherd

Elizabeth S. “Liz” Shepherd, 74, a resident of Wilkinson passed away Friday, September 4, 2015 at her home. She was born December 4, 1940 in Albany, Kentucky to the late Turner and Maylene (Cross) Melton

A former resident of Kennard, she had lived in Wilkinson for the past fifteen years. Liz was a 1960 graduate of Knightstown High School and had been employed by Western-Electric in Indianapolis for eighteen years. She enjoyed being outdoors, loved her flower garden and collecting angels.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years: Roger D. Shepherd; a daughter: Rhonda (Bret) Rector of Tampa, FL; two granddaughters: Ashley King of Canton, MI and Brittany Charles of Tampa, FL; two great-granddaughters: Brailey and Hayden; a brother: James (Betty) Melton of Mt Summit; two sisters: Janice (Robert) Schaeffer of Knightstown and Melinda (Ron) Grounds of Sulphur Springs; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother: Larry Melton.

Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, September 11, 2015 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel with Pastor Danny Shelton officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Friday, prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be given to Gentiva Hospice, 5550 S.
