Ella Mauzie Ferguson

Ella Mauzie Ferguson, 82, New Castle resident, went home to be with her Lord on August 17, 2013 following a brief illness. She was born July 5, 1931 in Clinton county Kentucky, a daughter of the late William A. and Ruby Mills.

She was a New Castle resident for over 60 years. She was retired from The Courier-Times after 30+ years of service. She was a member of Kennard Baptist Church for many years. She was a devoted wife to her husband John for over 60 years, as well as loving Mother, sister, aunt and friend. She loved to quilt and to garden.

She is survived by her son Jeffrey Ferguson (wife Leanne) of Brownsburg; Step-grandchildren Neil Hurford and Abby Hurford both of Brownsburg; Sisters, Neldia Dorine Daniel of New Castle, and Lola Cross also of New Castle; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband John, son Michael, brothers Samuel Mills, Jay Mills, and sisters Opal Dixon and Lucille Rigney.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverend Randall Morris officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the Kennard Baptist Church, 6931 W.
