Ella Mae Neal Raines Green, age 73 was born in the Denney Hollow of Wayne County, July 16, 1937 the daughter of the late John and Mollie Blevins Neal. She passed away peacefully and comfortably in her earthly home Thursday, June 23 and entered into her heavenly home.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Elsworth Leon Raines who passed away March 3rd, 1978. To this union two daughters survive: Leona Mae and her husband Jack L. Brown of Anderson, Indiana and Barbara Elaine and her husband Robert Gideon of New Castle, Indiana.
On July 11, 2008 she united in marriage with Charles Green, who survives. Surviving are her stepchildren; Deliah and her husband Steve Mikel of Piggott, Arkansas and Charles B. Green Jr. and his wife Pam of Hagerstown, Indiana.
Also surviving are her grandchildren: Scot Alan and Jon Phillip Brown, Krystal Leann Gideon; step grandchildren: Michael Flowers, Brandon and Josh Mikel, Ami House, Jennifer and Cristina Green; her sister: Mary Guffey and brothers, Earl and Gilbert Neal, several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her sisters, Flora Neal and Ruth Walker.
Mrs. Green was a retired auto worker from Chrysler and a member of the Meadow Creek Baptist Church.
She was a good Christian wife and mom that lived and taught by example. (II Timothy 4:7-8) She touched so many lives on her earthly journey, loved her family, church family, proud of her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed catching fish, Gospel music, college basketball~ GO UK~ NASCAR, Kyle Bush, bargains and especially garage sales, always walking away with less than the price marked. She enjoyed her flowers while she was living which were often started with a “pinch” start from anywhere she’d visit.
In lue of flowers the family has requested expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to your local Hospice organization.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m.Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until time of services Tuesday at the funeral home.
