Emily G Sherban

Emily G. Sherban, age 93, of Knightstown, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2011, in New Castle. She was born January 18, 1918, in Ohio to the late Otis and Stella Markley.

Emily retired from the Army Finance Center in Lawrence, Indiana, and lived her retirement years in Knightstown. She has been a faithful member of Whittier Lane Baptist Church in New Castle for many years.

Survivors include her daughter, Gloria (Jon) Means of Knightstown, IN; granddaughter, Wendy (Matthew) Reisner of Greenwood, IN; grandson, Harley (Abby) Means of Danville, IN; three great grandsons, Alec, Isaac, and Abraham Means; a stepdaughter, Faith Thompson of Cleveland, OH; grandchildren, Joyce (Bruce) Witzke, Mark Thompson, Ruth (Allen) Stone; great grandchildren, Jonathan (Jennifer) Witzke, Nicole (Brandon) Drake, Rebecca, Matthew, and Benjamin Witzke, Sharon (Joshua) Kennedy, Karen (Joshua) Wolfe, Ethan Thompson, Kayla, Nathan, and Allison Stone; and eleven great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert M. Sherban in 1977, and a sister, Mary.

Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 25, 2011, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Frank Wood officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery in Fishers, IN. Friends may call 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the Henry County Hospice, 798 N. 16th St., New Castle, IN 47362 with envelopes available at the funeral home.
