Emma “Christine” Meredith, 89, of Dunreith, passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at The Waters of New Castle. She was born April 13, 1923 in Parkers Lake, KY the daughter of James and Mary Owens.
A homemaker, she was a member of the Green Grove Baptist Church in McCreary County, KY. She attended the Dunreith Christian Church where she belonged to the Ladies Aide. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, quilting and crocheting. She was an excellent cook and a great mother. She also enjoyed arts, crafts and board games.
She is survived by two sons: Russell (wife, Trudi) Meredith of Dunreith, Richard (wife, Marsha) Meredith of Greenfield; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; a sister: Ida Evelyn (Owens) Keith of Whitley City, KY; many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by 5 sisters, 2 brothers and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 12-2 PM Monday, February 4, 2013 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM Monday at McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson. Memorial contributions may be made to Dunreith Christian Church or Green Grove Baptist Church with envelopes available at the funeral home.
