Emma Jean Rumple

Emma Jean Rumple, 95, of Carthage, passed away Sunday, September 11, 2022 at her residence. She was born July 10, 1927 in Beech Grove the daughter of Walter G. and Catherine C. (Coffin) Adams.

Emma graduated from Beech Grove High School. She was a member of Living Waters Wesleyan Church where she taught Sunday School. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, fishing, camping and singing. Emma especially loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by children, Frank Rumple of Rushville, Marjorie Smith of Ogden, Edna (Patrick) Partlow of Knightstown, Sharon (Gary) Williams of Carthage, Sandra Jackson of Carthage and Jesse Rumple, Jr. (Jennifer Halcomb) of Carthage; daughter-in-law, Connie Rumple of Knightstown; 20 grandchildren; several great and great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Rumple, Sr.; son, Larry Rumple; son-in-law, Carl Smith, Sr.; four sisters and four brothers; grandson, Carl Eugene Smith;

Services will be at 11:00 AM Friday, September 16, 2022 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Pastors Charles and Doug Stroud officiating. Burial will follow in Carthage Cemetery.
