Ethel Irene (Weber) George, 89, of Spiceland, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, December 8, 2012 at her residence surrounded by her loving family following a brief illness. She was born January 17, 1923 in Decatur County, IN the daughter of John Peter and Lillian Augusta (Weideman) Weber.
Ethel was a member of the New Lisbon Christian Church and had taught Sunday School at Sexton Christian Church. She enjoyed cooking and canning. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the joy of her life.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 68 years: James Riley George; four sons: Roger (Carol) George of Norwalk, OH, Jim (Janet) George of Muncie, Dennis (Cathy) George of Spiceland, Robert George of New Castle; a daughter: Donna Sue (Tom) Roginski of Mertztown, PA; 10 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren; a brother: Norman (Lois) Weber of Greensburg; many nieces and nephews; 2 sisters-in-law: Mary Weber and Evelyn Weber both of Greensburg.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson: Andy George; 3 brothers: Herbert, Arthur and Jack Weber; 3 sisters: Nellie Grow, Dorothy Powers and Olive Spiegel.
Services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverend Bill Worrel officiating. Burial will follow in Circle Grove Cemetery.
