Eva Ray Means, 96, of New Castle passed away Monday, October 30, 2017 at her home. She was born August 23, 1921 in Kentucky.
In Eva’s earlier years, she worked at Edwards Jewelers and Jo Ann Fabrics. She enjoyed golfing with her husband, James Harley Means and attended Sugar Grove United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her children, James Leroy (Debbie) Means of Florida, Harley Ray Means of New Castle, Donna Jean (John Keith) Unger of Colorado and John Edward Means of New Castle, grandchildren, Eric Means, Kaydee (Chris) Davis, Kyle Benson, Crystal (Dustin) Purdue, John Keith Unger Jr., Tanya Unger, great-grandchildren, Cambria and Mason Rex, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Harley Means, son, Donald Means and several brothers and sisters.
Services will be at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, November 9, 2017 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. prior to the service. You may express condolences or share a memory of Eva at
