Evelyn F. Buttery, age 94, of New Castle, passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at the Heritage House of New Castle. She was born May 7, 1917 in Middlesboro, Kentucky to the late Ira and Pearl (Smith) Ramsey.
She had been employed at Ruby’s Nursing Home in Middlesboro, Kentucky and at Middlesboro Hospital as a nurse. She has also taught at the Crescent Nursery School in Beltsville, Maryland. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene where she was actively involved in Joy Club.
Survivors include a daughter, Patricia (husband, Ron) Green of New Castle; son, Dale (wife, Lisa) Buttery of Lakeland, FL; eighteen grandchildren; several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; four step children, Betty Rykard, Alice Farmer, Barbara Osgood and Robert Buttery; close friends, Ruth Hall of Spiceland and Christine Brown of New Castle.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Clyde England and her second husband, Otis Buttery; two sons, Edward and Drexel England; a daughter, Dorethea Spence; an infant daughter; granddaughter, Andrea Green; a brother, Willis Ramsey; two sisters Ann Bonner and Mary Chitwood.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 26, 2012 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastors Danny Goddard and Woody Kreuzinger officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery-West Lawn Addition. Friends may call from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, March 25, 2012 at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service.
