Everett L. Skinner, 77, of Greenfield passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Kindred Health Care in Greenfield. He was born July 30, 1938 in Madison County, KY to the late Ollie Reed and Lillie (Suttles) Skinner.
Everett was retired from the Indianapolis Parks and Recreation Department where he served for 43 years. While at the parks department, Everett performed duties such as, heavy equipment operator, mechanic, and welder. He also supervised the construction of the Southeastway Park and was the District 6 parks supervisor. Everett enjoyed both hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed hunting trips to Canada where he harvested three large bears and participated in some moose hunts. Everett liked to spend time building muzzleloaders and tinkering with tractors and fly wheel hit and miss engines.
Everett is survived by his wife of 52 years, Wilma Louise (Adams) Skinner of Greenfield; great niece, Judy Mead of Anchorage, AK; special friends, Victor and Tammy Neal of Hagerstown, Rosella Neal of Hagerstown, Nestor Muller of New Castle, Steve Hull of Greenfield and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Everett was preceded in death by his brother and five sisters.
Services will be at 1:00 P.M. Monday, July 11, 2016 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Elders David Brown and J.D. Beck officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
