Forrest E Kirkpatrick

December 1, 1919 — August 27, 2012

Forrest E. Kirkpatrick, 92, of New Castle, passed away Monday, August 27, 2012 in Stonebrooke Rehabilitation Centre. He was born December 1, 1919 in Summitville, IN, a son of the late James Walter and Juliet (Forrest) Kirkpatrick.

A 1937 graduate of Cadiz High School, Forrest served in the U.S. Marines during World War II. He farmed and retired from Coca-Cola Company, for which he worked in delivery. A member of the New Lisbon Christian Church, Forrest was also a member of Greensboro Masonic Lodge. A member of the Henry County Men’s Bowling Association, he had served as president, and had bowled a 300 and a 299 during his 55 years of sanctioned bowling. He also enjoyed playing golf.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 66 years, whom he married April 21, 1946, Phyllis (Nutty) Kirkpatrick, of New Castle; a son, David (wife, Debra) Kirkpatrick of New Castle; grandchildren, Chad (wife, Brandy) Thompson of New Castle, Kelly Holtry of Angleton, TX; great-grandchildren, Rylee and Tyler Thompson, Zoey and Savanna Holtry; step-grandchildren, Carrie (husband, Jason) Williams , Crista (husband, Mick) Pratt, both of New Castle, and Charles Reece of Noblesville; step-great grandchildren; Henry and Benjamin Pratt, Taylor and Mitchell Williams, and Faith and Hunter Reece; one great-great grandchild.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Carole Thompson; grandson, Christopher Kirkpatrick; a sister, Annabelle Kirkpatrick; two brothers, William and Paul Kirkpatrick.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with the Rev. Mark Lomison officiating. Entombment will follow at Green Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
