Frances (Fanny) Swartz, 87, of Greenfield, formerly of Knightstown, passed away Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Legacy at Springhurst Health Campus in Greenfield. She was born July 5, 1926 in Pendleton, the daughter of Ernest and Martha (Keesling) Moreland who preceded her in death.
A 1944 graduate of Pendleton High School, she was former co-owner of Rody’s and the Patio Shoppe in Knightstown. She was a past member of Psi Iota Xi and the American Legion Auxiliary Post #152.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband: Donald Swartz of Greenfield whom she married February 22, 1946; two sons: Gary (Vicki) Swartz of Huntsville, AL and Jerry Swartz of Shelbyville; four grandchildren: Abby Lu Swartz of Shelbyville, Brandi (Jonathan) Shoemaker of Huntsville, AL, Mindi (Jeffrey) Martin of Shreveport, LA, and Dustin Swartz of Denton, TX; five great-grandchildren: Presley and Blaine Shoemaker, Brooke, Logan and Payton Martin.
Services will be at 1pm Monday, July 22, 2013 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Reverend Danny Tompkins officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery. Friends may call from 11am to 1pm Monday at the funeral home.
