Frank “Bub†G. Blevins age 65, of Springport, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born January 3, 1944 in New Castle, Indiana to the late Frank and Mary (Carr) Blevins.
He retired from Chrysler Corporation in New Castle in 1999 following 34 years of service. Frank was a veteran with the Indiana National Guard serving for 6 years. Frank and his best friend and sweetheart Janet lived in the Mooreland area for 30 years. He enjoyed his horses, fishing, camping, John Wayne and traveling to Tennessee to visit his beloved grandchildren. Frank loved his special friends at White Water Campground in Connersville. He also enjoyed attending Cornerstone Church in Madison Tennessee with his family and had made many friends there.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Janet Blevins whom he married April 16, 1966; a son: Jeffrey (wife Deana) Blevins of Madison, TN; a daughter: Julie (husband: Shane) McGaughey of Mt. Summit; two precious grandchildren: Caroline Grace Blevins and Levi Franklin Blevins; a brother: Keith (wife: Judy) Blevins of Wannette, OK; a sister: Letha “EC†Blevins of Mustang, OK; mother-in-law: Louise Neal of Muncie; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and brothers and sisters-in-law. He also loved his grand dog “Duke†McGaughey.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister: Netta Blevins; father-in-law: James A. Neal.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 10, 2009 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Randy Shinolt officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Summit Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. Friday, October 9, 2009 at the funeral home.
