Rev. Frank D. Voss, 88, a resident of New Castle passed to his Heavenly reward on Friday, August 29, 2014 after two significant heart attacks with complications at Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida. He was born February 8, 1926 in Cicero to the late Harry Y. and Rena (Jessup) Voss.
A graduate of Olivet Nazarene University, Rev. Voss pastored in the Church of the Nazarene for fifty years, all located in Indiana. He was an active member of the Westview Church of the Nazarene, New Castle, where he has served as Interim Pastor, Associate Pastor, Sunday School teacher and was involved with the visitation ministry. Frank enjoyed reading, spending time with his family, writing and various church activities.
Survivors include his five children: Vicky Hayse of Tallahassee, FL, Gary (Sharon) Voss of Winterhaven, FL, Sandy (Micah) Criswell of New Castle, Dan (Becky) Voss of Colorado Springs, CO and Jim (Suzy) Voss of Fishers; 22 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, a brother: Harry Voss, Jr. of Frankton and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 64 ½ years: Frances Voss, whom passed away one year ago, two brothers: Walter and Von Voss and a sister: Maverine Ellingwood.
Services to honor his life and home going will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Westview Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Paul Riddle officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens with military rites conducted by a contingent of the United States Navy, the American Legion and the VFW. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday, September 12, 2014 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle and one hour prior to the service at the church.
