Frederick C. Ford, Jr., 89, a resident of New Castle went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at the Waters of New Castle. He was born May 25, 1934 in New Castle to the late Frederick C. and Rosemond (Pride) Ford, Sr.
Fred retired from ABB Corp (formerly Westinghouse) in Muncie in 1994 after over 30 years of service. A veteran of the US Marine Corps, he served during the Korean War. Fred was a member of First Assembly of God where he assisted with the Shepherd’s Door Food Pantry and sang in the choir. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and playing BINGO and various sports. More than anything, Fred loved spending time with his family.
Left to cherish his memory include three children: Tammy (Jeff) Sparks of New Castle, Sherri (Ford) Wells of Indianapolis and Frederick C. “Fritz” (Leah) Ford, III of New Castle; grandchildren: Brad Sparks, Courtney (Chris) Lacy, Ammi Wells, Josh Wells, Bryce Hudson-Wells, Clark-Gabriel Wells, Jakeb Wells, Derick (Sarah) Ford and Angel (Kyle) Anderson; great-grandchildren: Brody Liljeahl, Kenley and Marlee Lacy, Aliana Wells-Kirchner, Kennedy and Frederick C Ford, V; sister: Terry (Grant) Ingle of New Castle; two step-sons: Steve and Kevin Carter, both of Lewisville; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, step grandchildren and step-great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia S. Ford; an infant son: Bradley Ward Ford; two brothers: Rodney and David N. Ford; sister: Terry Ingle; step-son: Randy Carter; son-in-law: Kenneth David Wells; several aunts and uncles.
Services will be held at 2: 00 P.M. Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Stephen Gallaway officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. until time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery with military rites will be conducted by contingents of the U.S. Marines, the American Legion and the VFW. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Shepherd’s Door Food Pantry or New Castle Kiwanis Club. Condolences and memories of Fred may be shared at
