Gail Wenford Donica

Gail Wenford Donica, 85, of New Castle went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on June 4, 2024. He was born on June 16, 1938 in New Castle to Wenford and Violet (Worley) Donica.

Gail graduated from New Castle Chrysler High School in the class of 1957. After graduation, he enlisted in the US Army and served his country for three years. He married Opal Green on September 25, 1960 and was employed by Chrysler Corporation in New Castle; he retired following 31 years of service. Gail and his family spent many years traveling and camping all over the United States before and after retirement. They lived in Utah, moved to Florida and then back to Utah before coming home to New Castle in 2023. He also loved spending time with his family whenever possible. 

Gail is survived by two his children, Jane and Bryan both of New Castle; four brothers, Gary Donica (Marsha) of Florence, SC, Charles Donica (Pearl) of Riverton, UT, Otis Donica (Juanita) of New Castle, Lloyd Donica (Debbie) of Hampton, VA; two sisters, Charlotte Anderson (Mike) of New Castle and Karen Donica of Muncie; sisters-in-law, Stella and Anita Donica both of New Castle; several nephews and nieces also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wenford and Violet Donica; wife, Opal (Green) Donica; five brothers, Wayne, Donald, Gerald Dean, James and David Donica; two sisters, Madeleen Donica and Katheleen Hinton.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 10, 2024 at 11:00 am at Green Hills Memory Gardens with Rev. Lloyd Donica officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the New Castle American Legion/VFW and the US Army. Visitation will be on Sunday, June 9, 2024 from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. You may express condolences or share memories of Gail at www.hinsey-brown.com.
