Geneva Vincent, a resident of New Castle, went to be with the Lord Friday, July 1, 2011 at Glen Oaks Health Campus in New Castle. She was born October 25, 1926 in Waynesburg, KY a daughter of Loie and Mary (Wilson) Goble, Sr.
As a young girl, she came to New Castle to find work. She lived with her cousin and close friends, Fern Wilson Reno and Luther Reno along with their son, Raymon. They became like a second family to Geneva and preceded her in death. Geneva owned Futuristic Beauty Shop in New Castle. She previously worked at Modernfold Corporation in New Castle. She was a member of the Foursquare Gospel Church and was a Colts & Pacers fan, hardly ever missing a game.
She is survived by two children: Brent (wife, Liz) Vincent and Amy (husband, Brad) Eversole both of New Castle; grandchildren: Lacey Vincent, Tyler Vincent, Brady Eversole; one sister: Pauline (husband, Henry) Sizemore, Jr. of Findlay, OH; one brother: Loie (wife, Shirley) Goble, Jr. of Findlay, OH; sisters-in law: Ruby and Evelyn Goble; special cousins with whom she was raised: Norma Jean (husband, Mike) Reuter and Jack (wife, Cathy) Reno; several nieces and nephews and her special dog, Maggie.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers: George, Jerry and Douglas Glen Goble; a sister: Loretta Helton.
A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverends Jim Becker and Robert Shaeffer officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery West Lawn Addition. Friends may call from 4-8 PM Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at the funeral home.
