George Nicholas Goodwin

George Nicholas Goodwin, age 46, of New Castle, passed away Monday, August 19, 2024 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. He was born on May 14, 1978, in Indianapolis.

Nick enjoyed landscaping, mowing and tree trimming. He was also an avid reader and loved making others laugh. Nick was a recovery counselor in Portsmouth, Ohio and was actively engaged in AA, where he had a passion for helping others. He attended the First Church of the Nazarene in New Castle.

Nick is survived by four children, Nicholas Goodwin, Audrey Collins and Adelyn Collins, all of Indianapolis and Benjamin Lockhart of Delmont, New Jersey; his grandson, Lucas Goodwin of Indianapolis and his mother, Sherry Goodwin of Indianapolis.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Collins, his father, Richard T. Goodwin and grandmother Mary Bates.

Services for George will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at the First Church of the Nazarene in New Castle, IN with Pastor Jimmy Southerland officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, Lebanon, IN. Visitation will take place from 11:30 until the start of the service on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be given to the First Church of the Nazarene, 1727 Grand Ave, New Castle, IN 47362 so that others may be helped as well.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle.
