George Legge

George W. Legge, Jr. age 63, of New Castle, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, February 03, 2009 at Henry County Hospital. He was born July 17, 1945 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late George W. and Betty June (Moore) Legge.

He was a graduate of Peabody High School in Pittsburgh, PA and attended Grove City College in Grove City, PA majoring in political science. He lived in Buffalo, NY, Chicago, IL before moving to New Castle in 1977. He had been employed at Outokumpu for the past 31 years, where he was currently a supervisor.

Survivors include Bobbie Legge of New Castle, his wife of 35 years; two daughters: Marianne Legge of New Castle and Chrissy (husband: Shawn) Morgan of Galveston, IN; two grandsons: Jesse and Derek Morgan both of Galveston, IN; three sisters: Betty Helen (husband: Tom) Butler of Pittsburgh, PA, Lori (husband: Bruce) Motyer of Los Angeles, CA and Trudy (husband: Arthur) Golden of Brookline, MA; a brother: Art (wife: Connie) Legge of Philadelphia, PA; several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 6, 2009 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Father Joe Rautenberg officiating. Burial will follow in St. Anne Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, February 5, 2009 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association with envelopes available at the funeral home.
