Georgia M. Guffey

Georgia M. Guffey, 87, of New Castle, died unexpectedly Monday, May 30, 2011 in her home. She was born November 20, 1923 in Albany, KY a daughter of the late George M. and Malinda (Crockett) Cross.

A homemaker, Georgia enjoyed crocheting, cooking for her family and caring for her children and grandchildren. She attended Foursquare Gospel Church in New Castle.

She is survived by a son: Jesse G. (wife, Connie) Guffey of New Castle; a daughter: Kathy L. (husband, David) Nantz of New Castle; grandchildren: Greg (wife, Dawn) Guffey of Indianapolis, Amy (husband, Rick) Sullivan of Lufkin, TX, Abby (husband, John) Hutson of New Castle, David (wife, Lisa) Nantz, Jr. of New Castle; great grandchildren: Alysa Guffey, Gavin Guffey, Whittney (husband, Mike) Roberts, Hayden and Landen Hutson, Halston Nantz; great-great grandchildren: Kyler, and Khloe; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Jessie Guffey, three sisters and one brother.

Services will be at 1:00 PM Thursday, June 2, 2011 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastors Charles McDonald and Jim Becker officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 PM Wednesday, June 1, 2011. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Aid Unit with envelopes available at the funeral home.
