Georgia M. Kelley, age 81, of Springville, passed from this life on Monday, July 29, 2013, one day short of her and her husband’s 63rd wedding anniversary. She was born July 19, 1932 in Greene County, Indiana to the late Albert A. and Arietta (Tippitt) Goff.
She graduated from Oolitic High School in 1950, and she and her husband were married the same year. As evangelists, they held revivals in many churches until, along with their family, they founded Life Tabernacle in Springville in August of 1969. There she served faithfully as pastor’s wife touching and influencing the lives of many people. In addition, she enjoyed being a homemaker, cooking, canning, and taking care of her family. She was such an inspiration to everyone over the years; always kind, always prayerful, always smiling.
Sis. Kelley’s greatest testimony was that her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren all “walk in truth.” Following in her and her husband’s footsteps, the family is made up of a long line of ministers and ministers’ wives devoted to the work of God.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Stan Kelley of Springville; two sons, Doug (wife, Linda) Kelley, and Rick (wife, Star) Kelley, both of Springville; four grandchildren, Jeff (wife, Della) Kelley of Springville, Darrick (wife, Laura) Kelley of Lisbon, OH, Natalie (husband, Matt) Farr of Brookhaven, MS, and Nathaniel (wife, Courtney) Kelley of Springville; as well as eight great grandchildren, Hollie, Austin, Brianna, Camden, Abigail, Maileigh, Brooklynn and Wyatt.
A brother, Harold Goff of Braselton, GA survives. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her other brother, Albert Goff.
Services will be at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Life Tabernacle, Springville with Pastor Ron Garrett of Phoenix, AZ officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Friday, August 2, 2013, also at Life Tabernacle, Springville, and an hour before the service on Saturday. Private burial services will be at Springville Christian Cemetery on Sunday, August 4, 2013. Memorial contributions may be given to Premier Hospice, 319 N. Ewing St., Suite B, Seymour, IN 47274.
