Georgia Teel, age 89, of New Castle, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2015. She was born April 24, 1925 in Greeneville, Tennessee to the late John Harley and Lydia (Dodd) Fannon.
She was a 1943 graduate of New Castle High School and retired from Henry County Memorial Hospital in 1985 from the nursing department. Georgia enjoyed gardening, especially her roses and was an avid IU fan.
Survivors include two daughters, Cindy (Don) Bennett of New Castle and Lindy (Marvin) Gomillion of Summerfield, FL; a son William “Bill” (Susan) Teel of Anderson; grandchildren, Scott (Kim) Vores of Annadale, VA, Jennifer (Jaimie) Vores of Westport, IN, Tim (Melody) Smith of West Harrison, IN, Brooke (Donald) Morgan of New Castle, Chelsea (Jordan) Caulk of Columbus, GA, Derrick (Cristen) Ferguson of Charlotte, NC, Bradley (Dino) Bennett of Durham, NC and Laura (Kim) Bennett of Ellicot City, MD; thirteen great grandchildren; a sister, Eullillian Bell of Mooreland.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William D. Teel; two daughters, Becky Smith and Alice Vores; two grandsons, Thomas Smith and Jon Smith; one brother, Clarence Fannon.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2015 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Larry Neal officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery-West Lawn Addition.
