Geraldine "Gerry" F. Ford

Geraldine “Gerry” F. Ford, age 76, of New Castle, passed away Sunday, August 5, 2012 at Henry County Hospital following an unexpected illness. She was born December 31, 1935 in New Castle, Indiana to the late Albert and Gertie (Fritz) Bell.

She lived for her grandchildren and loved spending time with her family especially at Christmas and Thanksgiving. Gerry loved her pretties in her yard and enjoyed making flowers to place on family graves. She also enjoyed watching wrestling, working puzzle books and was an avid Bingo player. She enjoyed all of her animals through the years especially her current dog “Star”. Gerry was a former member of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church and was recently attending Turning Point Life Center.

Survivors include her children, Debbie Lawson of New Castle, Becky Francis (Companion, Jerry Belcher) both of New Castle, George “Toad” (wife, Janet) Ford of New Castle, Velma “Sis” (husband, James) Dean of New Castle, Dean Ford (companion, Brenda Weaver) of New Castle, and Kenny (wife, Lucy) Ford of New Castle, grandchildren, Tabby Cotner of AL, Shane Seward of New Castle, Dalanda Francis, Linda Parks of New Castle, Misty (husband, Billy) Goad of New Castle, Lucinda (husband, Mike) Davidson of New Castle, Kayla Ford of New Castle, Ryan Ford of Greenfield, D-Ray Ford of New Castle; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; cousin, Joyce Anne Lawson of New Castle; several nieces and nephews; best friend, Eunice Petrey of New Castle.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George “Dog” Ford; three grandsons, Jeremy Ford, George and Russell Cotner; several brothers and sisters.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, August 9, 2012 at Turning Point Life Center with Pastor Matt Perdue officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery-West Lawn Addition. Friends may call from 4:00 -8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle and 11 a.m. to1:00 p.m. Thursday at the church.
