Geraldine “Gerry” L. Lockridge, 90, of Sulphur Springs, passed away Friday, October 14, 2016, at Henry County Hospital. She was born May 23, 1926 in Spiceland, Indiana to the late Ernest and Mary (Magee) Glidewell.
Gerry retired from Shenandoah School Corporation in 1989 as a cook after 26 years of service. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, where she had taught Sunday school for 7 years.
Her survivors include, two daughters, Sharon (Terry) Smith of Sulphur Springs, and Jama (Randy) Russell of Mechanicsburg; seven grandchildren, Tony (Lynn) Floyd, Danny (Cecilia) Floyd, Jackie (Gary) Black, Ryan Russell, Rachel (Bryan) Batthauer, Kara (Mike) Holman, and Kaley Smith; great-grandchildren, Taylor and Evan Floyd, Gary II, Elijah Black, AJ and Skylar Black, Hannah Floyd, Bailey Holman, Kendall, Emmy Cayda Holman, Brooks, and Brielle Batthauer; great-great-grandchildren, Jaden and Willow Black; brothers-in-law, Bill (Hilda) Lockridge of Texas, and Charles (Sharon) Lockridge of Pendleton; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents she preceded in death by her husband, James Robert (Bob) Lockridge in 2008; two great-grandsons, Levi Black and Nicholas Floyd.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service of New Castle with Pastor James Nichols and Norwood Kreuzinger officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hills Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.
