Gilbert L. Hutson, 72, of Knightstown, passed away Saturday, February 13, 2010 at Methodist Hospital Hospice following a brief illness. He was born May 2, 1937 in New Castle the son of Clifford and Rhea (Ellis) Hutson.
Gilbert was a 1955 graduate of Knightstown High School. He retired from the U.S. Marine Corps in 1975 and from the State of Indiana Department of Natural Resources in 1995. He was a member of the Greensboro United Methodist Church.
Gilbert is survived by his wife of 51 years: Patty Hutson of Knightstown; two sons: Chuck (wife: Shirley) Hutson of Knightstown and Rick Hutson of Greenfield; two grandchildren: Erica (husband: Andy) York of Knightstown and Jessica Hutson of Knightstown; two great grandchildren: Emma and Brayton Hutson of Knightstown; several step grandchildren; one brother: Gary (wife: Sharon) Hutson of North Port, FL; two aunts; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son: Donald Hutson in 2001 and his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Reverends Ruth Waite and Bill House officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the hospice organization of the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be expressed at www.hinsey-brown.com .
