Gladys L. Hollars

Gladys L. Hollars, age 83, of Spiceland, passed away peacefully at her home Tuesday, March 08, 2016. She was born October 16, 1932 in Waynesburg, Kentucky to the late Waits and Lydia (McKinney) Lingerfelt.
She was a resident of Spiceland for 50 years and was a member of the Spiceland Church of the Nazarene. She had worked for Western Electric in Indianapolis and for many years had been a realtor in New Castle. Gladys loved the Lord and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed crocheting, was a great homemaker and cook. She also enjoyed camping, fishing, canning, board games and horseback riding. Gladys was very loving, kind and generous.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Ralph Hollars whom she married June 16, 1951 in New Castle; a daughter, Rhonda (Terry) Brown of Danville, KY; seven grandchildren, Adam (Sara) Hollars of Spiceland, Danielle Stigall of New Castle, Cara (Robby) Taylor of New Castle, Trent (Grace) Davis of San Jose, CA, Timothy (Lacey) Davis of Gilroy, CA, Thomas (Jennifer) Davis of Morgan Hill, CA and Victoria (Tori) Brown of Danville, KY; eight great grandchildren, Jackson and Nova Hollars both of Spiceland, Wyatt and Chloe Davis both of Gilroy, CA, Piper, Paxton, Reid and Renn Davis all of Morgan Hill, CA; a sister, Edith “Jean” Nelson of Santa Clara, CA; a brother, Charlie Lingerfelt of Stoneyford, CA; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Eugene “Gene” Hollars; siblings, Thelma Hasty, Stanley, Ray, Eva, Jr. and Lillian Lingerfelt.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2016 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverends Mark Herbkersman and Gene Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in Circle Grove Cemetery in Spiceland. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2016 at the funeral home.
