Gladys Jolley, 98, of McMinnville, TN, and formerly of New Castle, passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at her residence there. She was born March 23, 1914, in Xenia, Ohio, a daughter of the late Walter and Ida Mae (Rhoades) Surber.
Gladys moved to New Castle in 1949. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star #243 in Sulphur Springs for over 60 years. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in New Castle until moving to Tennessee in 2000, where she became a member of the Presbyterian Church there.
She is survived by her dear friend and neighbor, Myrtle Hawkins of McMinnville, TN; several great and great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Jolley in 1987; a brother, Sherold Stafford in 2000, three half-sisters and three half-brothers.
Graveside services will be at 3:00 p.m. Friday, June 29, 2012 at Mt. Summit Cemetery with the Reverend Jack Hannum officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to the charity of the donor’s choice. You may share a condolence or memory of Gladys at
