G. Leon Hall, Jr. age 73, of New Castle, passed away Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at IU Health Ball Hospital in Muncie. He was born January 9, 1940 in Muncie, IN to the late Granville and Dorothy (Phillips) Hall, Sr.
A veteran of the United States Navy, he retired from Marsh Supermarket following 40 years of service. He was actively involved in BNI of Muncie, Greenfield, Connersville, Anderson and New Castle and recently helped start three new chapters. Leon was a member of the Moose Lodge, Shriners International, Whitney Masonic, Valley of Indianapolis Scottish Rite, Fraternal order of Eagles, and Teamsters Local 135 where he had served as union steward. He enjoyed boating, camping and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Judith (Noble) Hall, whom he married June 20, 1959; two daughters, Lin (Ted) Norris and Lori (Tom) Norris, both of Springport; special adopted family, Charlotte (Jody) Sloan of New Castle; six grandchildren, Jon-Michael (Kelly) Norris, Amanda Norris (companion, Ellen Burklow), Justin Norris and Jessica Sloan; four great granddaughters, Jasa, Ryan, Taya and Sophia; two sisters, Sharon (Dan) Hite of Muncie and Diana (Jim) Burchfield of Martinsville; brother-in-law, Phil (Helen) Noble of Middletown; two sisters-in-law, Connie Swingley and Verna Sue (Larry) Terry, both of Yorktown; an aunt, Alice Phillips of Indianapolis; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Deanna Williams; granddaughter, Aubrey Leann Norris; mother-in-law, Helen Noble; father-in-law, George Noble; step-mother, Rose Hall.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Joshua Brandt and Travis Sims officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Summit Cemetery. Friends may call from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 16 at the funeral home. There will be Moose, Eagles and Masonic memorial services held beginning at 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
