Gloria “Jeanne†Havens, age 62, of New Castle, passed away Sunday, October 5, 2008 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born December 20, 1945 in Henry County, Indiana to Harold Keith and Helen Eloise (Riggs) McLain.
She had been employed at Raintree Industries, New Castle State Hospital and Home Health Care in New Castle, Pinehurst Nursing Home and Webbs Antiques both in Centerville and Golden Rule Nursing Home in Richmond. She enjoyed yard sales, arts, cooking, baking and crafts.
Survivors include her husband: Robert W. Havens of New Castle; five children: Kelly L. (husband: Jerry) Byrd of New Castle, Harold L. (wife: Sarah) Haskett of Centerville, Tina (husband: Terry) Trisler of California, Terry J. (wife: Debra) Haskett of Bloomfield and Cindy L. (husband: Luther) O’Neal of Greenville, SC; her mother: Helen “Eloise†McLain of New Castle; fourteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two sisters: JoAnn (husband: Rick) Penn of Middletown and Teresa Stanley of Zionsville; three nephews; special aunts and uncles; great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father: Harold Keith McLain; a daughter: Annette A. Sourbeer and a grandson: Leif Sourbeer; grandparents: Samuel and Faye Riggs and Herman and Mildred McLain.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 9, 2008 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial will follow in Mechanicsburg Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at the funeral home.
