Goldie M. Jackson, 96, of Knightstown, passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at Hickory Creek of New Castle. She was born March 9, 1918 in Fleming County, KY a daugther of Walter and Nancy (Jackson) Goodwin.
Goldie had been employed at Indiana Knitwear (formerly Indiana Rayon Factory) in Greenfield. She also baby sat for many area children for over 30 years. She loved cooking, gardening, canning, knitting and spending time with her grandchildren and great granddaughter.
She is survived by a son, Timothy (Janet) Goodwin of New Castle; two grandchildren, Samuel Goodwin of Knightstown and Teresa (Dennis) York of New Castle; great granddaughter, Ashley York (special friend: Alex Stigall) of New Castle; a brother, Clarence Goodwin of Knightstown; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles (Junior) Jackson; brothers, George and Oral Goodwin; stillborn twin brothers; sisters, Grace Thompson, Lena Caudill and Dessa Morgan.
Services will be at 10:00 AM Monday, October 6, 2014 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Richard Thayer officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery.
