Gordon “Gordy†E. Thomas, 69, of Shirley, went to be with the Lord Saturday, February 27, 2010 at his residence. He was born April 4, 1940 in Greensboro the son of Walter and Vivian Ilene (Davisson) Thomas.
He was co-owner of Karen’s Kreations and long time employee of Brookside Corporation and Metals Technology. He was an avid sports fan and coached Pony and Little League baseball in Knightstown and Shirley. He loved the Knightstown High School Band. He was a loving husband and father and a very proud grandfather.
Gordon leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 46 years: Karen Thomas of Shirley; daughter: Janette (husband: Kenny) Cullison; grandson: Jacob Cullison of Kennard; special kids: Damon Doubman of Kennard, Hannah Hite of Carthage, Samantha Leece of Knightstown, Sarah Lindsay of Kennard and Andy Ebbert of Shirley.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson: Bryce Cullison; father and mother-in-law: Charles and Verah Glisson.
Services will be at 2:30 PM Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Reverend Danny Tompkins officiating. Burial will follow in Hicksite Cemetery in Greensboro. Friends may call from 4-8 PM Tuesday, March 2, 2010. Memorial contributions may be given to the Gordon E.
