H. Kenneth Cummings, age 75, of New Castle, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, June 15, 2014 at his residence, following an extended illness. He was born August 10, 1938 in Albany, Kentucky to the late Hubert and Pearl (McWhorter) Cummings.
He had been employed by New Castle Fire Department in the late 1960’s, then was a self employed contractor, and eventually owned and operated All Doors in New Castle area for the past 30 years, servicing garage doors. He was an ordained deacon at Jackson Park Baptist Church in Muncie and was formerly a longtime member and trustee at Calvary Baptist Church in New Castle. Kenny enjoyed going on mission trips, going to Belize three times, New Mexico, and Oklahoma. He also enjoyed visiting his family and the “old home place” in Kentucky; but his greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and great granddaughters.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 55 years, Donna Cummings of New Castle; three children, Jeff (Kathy) Cummings of Spiceland, Tina Scanlan of Pendleton, and Pam (Alan) McCammack of New Castle; nine grandchildren, Joshua McKinzie of Pendleton, Rachel McKinzie (Patrick Hunt), both of Noblesville, Elizabeth (Elijah) Eley of New Castle, Jeremiah Cummings of Spiceland, Sarah McCammack (Josh Young) of New Castle, Zachery McKinzie of Pendleton, Emily McCammack of West Lafayette, Adam Scanlan of Pendleton, and Aaron Cummings of Spiceland; great grandchildren, Abby Eley, Raegen Cummings, Ryleigh Young, McKinley Mahan, and Leah Eley.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Godfrey and Vange Glidewell.
