Harold “Speck” Emerson Pfaff, 87 and Beverly Sue Pfaff, 83 of Lewisville entered eternal life on Friday, November 21, 2014. Harold passed away at Hancock Regional Hospital, Greenfield and Beverly at Community North Hospital, Indianapolis. Both were due to natural causes. Harold was born February 17, 1927 in Everton, Indiana a son of the late Thomas and Mary (Rose) Pfaff. Beverly was born October 20, 1931 in Straughn, Indiana a daughter of the late Herschel and Lucille (Dow) Hawley. Harold and Beverly were united in marriage 63 years ago on April 14, 1951.
Harold retired from Dana Corporation after 32 years of service and prior, he worked at Chrysler Corporation. A devoted father and grandfather, he loved farming, John Deere Tractors, ponies and “the pond”. He was a member of Lewisville Masonic Lodge #72 for over 65 years and was a 50 year Past Master Mason. Harold was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II. A member of the Lewisville Lions Club and the Salem United Methodist Church, Harold was a member of the 1945 Lewisville Bears Sectional Basketball championship team.
Beverly was a 50 year member of the Henry County Homemakers. A devoted mother, grandmother and friend, she enjoyed baking, especially pies. She was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church, and the Ladies Aide at the church. She was an avid Indiana Pacers fan.
Harold and Beverly are survived by a son, Jeffery A. (Sherri) Pfaff of Lewisville; two daughters, Lisa Sharp of Columbus and Linda L. (Chris) Farrington of Lewisville; seven grandchildren, Megan Habig of Fishers, Shannon Sharp of Indianapolis, Drew Farrington of Indianapolis, Jennifer Farrington of Muncie, Tom Pfaff, Tyler Pfaff, Katie Pfaff, all of Lewisville. Harold is survived by siblings, Betty Hickman of Lewisville and Don Pfaff of Greenfield; and several nieces and nephews. Beverly is survived by a sister-in-law, Patricia Hawley of Titusville, Florida and a special cousin, Bob Spray of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John Pfaff and James Pfaff; Beverly was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, William Hawley.
Harold and Beverly were preceded in death by a grandson, Joseph Edward Pfaff; and a grandson-in-law, Kyle Habig.
Services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverend Ray Armstrong and Pastor John Koyles officiating. The services will begin with Masonic Rites being conducted by the Lewisville Masonic Lodge #72. Burial will follow in Lewisville Cemetery. Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
