Harold W. Hembree, Jr.

Harold W. Hembree Jr., 79, of Spiceland, Indiana, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2024, at I. U. Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. Born on January 24, 1945, in New Castle, he was the son of the late Harold W. and Eunice Lotta (Wright) Hembree Sr. 

Harry was a 1963 graduate of Spiceland High School and went on to have a successful career, retiring in 1994 from Guide Lamp, a division of General Motors located in Anderson, IN. He later retired from CHEK Diagnostics in Indianapolis. 

A dedicated racing and sports fan, Harry also found great joy in woodworking and cabinetry, often spending his free time creating beautiful pieces. 

He is survived by his son, Jeff (Nicole) Hembree of Conway, SC; daughter-in-law, Robyn (Ken) Hembree Staton of Marion; grandchildren, Erica (Joe) Stanley of Myrtle Beach, Brittney (Matt) Brown of Lewisville, Madison (Cameron) Herr of Converse, Grayson Hembree of Marion, Dylan (Carly) Thompson of Conway, SC, Bailee (Kyle) Schultz of Aynor, SC; great-grandchildren, Kane Stanley, Cohen VanOsdol, Aniston and Callum Brown, Dawson and Irelynn Herr,  Haddie and August Thompson and Evan Schultz; brother, James (Brenda) Hembree of Spiceland, sister, Sarah (Irvin) Newkirk of IN; nieces and nephews, Melissa (Steve) Mondrush of New Castle, David Newkirk, and Sharon Womack; nephew-in-law, Mike McKown. 

In addition to his parents, Harry was preceded in death by his son, Scott Hembree; granddaughter, McKinley Grace Thompson; niece, Amy McKown. 

Services will be held at 1:00pm Friday, October 25, 2024 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in Knightstown. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 11:00am until the time of service. You may express condolences or share memories of Harry at www.hinsey-brown.com.
