Harold Eugene Lines' faith became sight on Friday, March 21, 2014 at Henry County Hospital. A New Castle resident, he was 83 years of age, born December 12, 1930 in Henry County the son of Everett and Mary (Miers) Lines.
Harold was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. He retired from Jefferson Smurfit Company after 31 years of service. He was a member of the First Bible Freewill Baptist Church where he served as trustee for 28 years. He enjoyed yard work, storytelling and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by two daughters: Joy Goodpaster and Cynthia Lines both of New Castle; a son: Max (Mary) Lines of New Castle; five grandchildren: Michelle (Jon) Dillow, Derek (Jennifer) Altom, Justin Altom, Emily Lines (fiancé, John Saiz), Heidi (Bill) Swafford; six great grandchildren: Lauren Dillow, Stephen, Larry and Josiah Altom, Sophia Lines and Ian Swafford; three sisters: Betty Wisehart of Mechanicsburg, Mary (Tom) Murray of Mooreland and Peggy (Ron) Dick of Greensboro; three brothers: Everett Lines of FL, Robert (Bonnie) Lines of Hartford City, and Larry (Cathy) Lines of Lewisville; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Anna (Thrasher) Lines whom he was married to for 51 years; a brother: Charles Lines.
Services will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Derek Altom and Pastor Harlen Johnson officiating. Military rites will be conducted by American Legion and VFW. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 4-8 PM Monday.
