Harold E Reece

Harold E. Reece, age 86, of Muncie, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at his residence. He was born March 4, 1926 in Dunreith, Indiana to the late Frank and Ollie (Hagy) Reece.

He retired from Dana Corporation in 1989 after 29 years of service and had also been employed at Hawkins Body Shop and Chrysler Corporation. He served in the United States Army in World War II. He enjoyed yard work and working in his garage. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed playing cards.

Survivors include his wife of nearly 64 years, Rosemary (Bolinger) Reece, whom he married May 29, 1948; daughter, Diane McNabb-Gilbert (husband, Mike) of Anderson; two sons, Rick Reece of Muncie and Ron Reece of Roanoke, IN; two grandsons, Ty McNabb of Worthington, IN and Shane Reece of Ft. Wayne; one brother, Otis Reece of Crescent City, FL; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Myrtle Reece Magee and Dorothy Reece Lacy; four brothers, Hobart, Everett, Charles and Jim Reece; an infant sister, Virginia Reece.

Graveside Services will be at 12:00 p.m. Friday, March 16, 2012 at South Mound Cemetery-West Lawn addition. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle.
