Harry Bever, 92, of Knightstown passed away Thursday, December 10, 2015 at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born May 15, 1923 in Rush County, Indiana to Ivan Lycurgus and Lillian Maurine (Houchins) Bever.
A lifelong farmer in Henry and Rush Counties, he was previously employed at Dayton Air Force Base. He was a member of the Rushville Masonic Lodge and Knightstown Lions Club. He was a member of Knightstown Christian Church where he formerly served as an Elder and a Deacon. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed welding and carpentry. He enjoyed spending winters in Florida.
Survivors include three children: Sharon Muncy of Knightstown; Larry (Debbie) Bever of Spiceland and Nina Wolfe of Knightstown. Seven grandchildren: Brett Muncy and J.B. Muncy, Dawneil Hall, Jason Bever, Chad Bever, John Hinton and Joe Hinton. Also, nineteen great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred M. (Meyer) Bever on April 3, 2003 and a sister, Eloise Gilmore.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, December 14, 2015 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel with Rev. David Bonne officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery, Knightstown. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 13, 2015 from 2-6 p.m. at the Chapel with the Masonic Service held at 5:45 P.M.
