Harry H. Wade Jr., 90, of New Castle went to be with his Heavenly Father Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at his home. He was born September 28, 1927 in Bolivar County, MS to the late Harry and Gladys (Aycock) Wade Sr.
He was a WWII veteran serving in the U.S. Navy and retired from NASA in Florida. Harry had formerly worked with Red Stone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL. He was a member of the Indianapolis BMW motorcycle club. A solid Christian man, he was a member of First Church of the Nazarene where he was active in the Joy Club. Harry enjoyed traveling on motorcycle and served as house parents for the UAH Hockey Team out of Huntsville. He was also a member of the Trojan Booster Club, faithfully attending all New Castle girls and boys basketball games.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Yettiva (Logan) Wade, daughter, Sharron Logan of New Castle; grandchildren, Suzzann (Monte) Bottoms, Melissa (Marc Wilburn)Savage, Angella Abrams and Amanda (James) Rich; 10 great-grandchildren, Christin (Emily Gibson), Andrea, Autumn, Emily, Shawn, Megan, Paige, Alivia, Samantha and Tatum;4 great-great grandchildren, Gracelynn, Jaelynn, Greysen and Jayden.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Logan in 1997.
Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastors Dennis Hilton, Norwood Kreuzinger and Emory Reece officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 – 8 p.m. Friday, April 13 at the funeral home.
